Without a doubt, one of the most distinctive and beloved voices in all of Gospel music is that of Danny Funderburk. Over the past four decades, audiences all across America have fallen in love with this incredible talent, as he performed with The Singing Americans, Perfect Heart, Mercy’s Way and, most notably, the legendary Cathedrals.

Born and raised in a pastor’s home, Danny began singing at age 20 when a position opened for a tenor singer for the Revelaires, a part-time quartet of which his father was a member. Danny’s first full-time singing job was with The Singing Americans, after which he was invited to join the great Cathedral Quartet, where he spent six years singing with Southern Gospel Hall of Famers Glenn Payne and George Younce. Along with Mark Trammel, that version of the Cathedrals was one of the most popular during the storied 35-year history of the Cathedral Quartet. While with the Cathedrals, Danny became well known for his signature song, “Somebody Touched Me.”

Danny now performs solo concerts and is often seen on Gaither Homecoming videos. His unmistakable tenor voice still blessing audiences nationwide.
