Derek and Jana Simonis

Born and raised in a musical family, Derek Simonis began singing gospel music at an early age around the piano with his sisters at home. His mother, an accomplished pianist, was his inspiration to sing.

Jana is a talented vocalist and comes from a rich heritage of ministry. Jana’s grandparents, Jackie and Elaine Wilburn, traveled for over 30 years as the award-winning group, The Wilburns. Jana is the daughter of a preacher and was saved at the age of 8 years old. Jana has always had a heart to serve the Lord and has faithfully served as a singer, pianist, children’s worker, and teacher. Derek and Jana met in church in 2008, and they were married in February of 2009.

In March of 2009, Derek surrendered to a call to preach. Derek and Jana continued to work in the music department at Bible Baptist in Erin, TN, as well as ministering at churches around the region and in prison ministry.

In 2013, military moved the Simonis family to southern Alabama, Derek was honored to serve as the Minister of Music at Ewell Bible Baptist. After leaving the military, the church called Derek to serve as the Assistant Pastor. In 2016, Derek joined Liberty Quartet out of Meridian, ID, and the Simonis Family moved west.

In 2018 Derek resigned from Liberty Quartet, and now the Simonis Family is endeavoring to serve the Lord together. God has continued to open many doors for Derek and Jana across the United States, and they give Him all the glory. They are faithful members of West Valley Baptist Church in Nampa, ID.

Derek and Jana’s desire is to glorify God, point the lost to Jesus Christ, and edify the saints. When ministering in a revival or a concert, Derek and Jana strive to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
